The Rock Blog is particularly intended for moments when either you wonder if you should buy a particular album, because you’re not massively familiar with the artists work, or you just want to check someone else’s opinion, regarding an album you’ve bought, but can’t quite make your mind up. There is a third, and less likely reason, and that is you just like reading album reviews for the hell of it.

However, if in any way it helps you make the ‘right’ decision, then the Rock Blog will have done its job. In time, more reviews, and album suggestions will be added. There are more albums than there are hours in the day, so the blog will develop over time. Hopefully, you will find the blogs interesting, even if you don’t necessarily agree with all of them. The reviews I give have no ulterior motive, and will be my honest opinion. I just enjoy listening to rock music, and I like to give my opinion. If for whatever reason I think the album/tracks are great, I’ll tell you why. Alternatively, if they leave me a little ‘cold’, then likewise, you’ll know why.

Reviews will mainly be from vinyl format, unless of course, I review something from that crazy time when record companies thought all of us vinyl junkies had disappeared off the face of the earth. I mention this, because a review may not include the 25 additional “previously unreleased, remixed in sonic sound, recently discovered” tracks, that appear on the 40th Anniversary edition. As the name of the blog suggests, the genre I will cover is what I consider to be ‘Rock’ music. That in itself, is a wide category (in my opinion), so whilst I have no intention of re-defining the category, it may include some artists others may categorise differently, and it may not include some artists others call ‘Rock Acts’. And so we begin. Over time, there may be changes to the format, and items added. We'll see how it goes.
